Absolutely! We highly recommend that you do. Bonding with your Pomsky puppy is good for them and good for you. You are welcome to come for a short visit or for the day. Spending time with your puppy at seven weeks old will make the transition home easier for both of you. Puppies will go home with your at eight weeks old.

That is up to you; however, dogs are den animals. They feel safe and secure in a crate, especially at night or during nap times. A crate will also keep your puppy safe and your house secure when you are away.

West Bay Pomsky will supply you with a bag of puppy food. We feed our puppies Castor & Pollux Organix Puppy Recipe. This food is available at local pet stores and at chewy.com. Speak to your veterinarian about their food recommendation.

Our Pomsky puppies are used to sleeping with their siblings or with us. When you bring your puppy home we recommend he/she sleeps with your other animals or with you. For the first few nights let them sleep with you or at least in your room. Giving them a stuffed animal to sleep with and putting a ticking clock near them will help them sleep. You will receive a blanket with the scent of their mother and siblings on it. Make sure they have the blanket when going to sleep. Begin with letting them sleep on your bed, then move their bed or crate to the floor in your room, and eventually into their own room or sleeping area. If your puppy cries or is upset, holding them and cuddling will provide the security they are used to. Be prepared to take them outside to urinate around 3am.

Prior to picking up your Pomsky puppy, our puppies sleep from 7pm to 7am although they need to urinate around 3am.

No. Puppies are ready for house breaking around eight weeks old. We start the training process when they are seven weeks old, but you will do most of the work when your puppy gets home. Consult with your veterinarian or dog trainer on how to house train your puppy.

We do not microchip our puppies. We highly recommend you get your puppy microchipped for its own safety and your peace of mind. Ask your veterinarian for a recommendation of a company in your area.

No, we are dog breeders not dog trainers. We highly recommend starting your puppy in puppy training right away. Both you and your puppy will be glad you did.

It is up to you; however, we recommend calling the puppy by its name right away. Don’t delay in naming your puppy.

It is up to you, but we recommend you enroll in puppy training with a reputable trainer. Many pet supply stores and local organizations offer free puppy training. Puppy training and later, obedience training, is really fun for the puppy and you. A well trained dog is a happy dog!

Yes and no. As part of your contract, you are expected to pick up your puppy at the agreed upon date at our home. In certain circumstances we will deliver to airports within Michigan on weekends only. In those instances, we will meet you or a flight nanny at the airport. There is no cost for my time, but there will be a mileage charge to cover gasoline.

Yes, we work with several pet shipping companies. First, your puppy must be paid for in full one week prior to shipping. If your puppy will be flying, it must be accompanied by a “flight nanny.” We will make recommendations how to do this.

That has happened once. Our dam gave birth to a light-colored litter even though the father is all black. In that case, you may choose another puppy that hasn’t been pre-sold or your deposit can be transferred to the next litter.

Our dams are part of our family, so their health comes first! We make the decision on whether to breed them with our veterinarian based on their age, health, and number of litters they have had.

Feel free to call if you have questions during your puppy’s first few days in your home. Most questions during this time are about helping your puppy sleep and basic adjustment questions. For all other questions, contact your veterinarian and puppy trainer.

No. We are dog breeders not dog trainers or vets. Our job ends once you take possession of your Pomsky puppy. We recommend you enroll in puppy training within the first few months of bringing your puppy home. We also recommend going to the next level of training called obedience school or training. Dog trainers and vets can be a wonderful resource to help you train your pet.
